LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymers) is an all-aromatic liquid crystalline polyester polymer material consisting of a rigid polymer chain structure. Liquid crystals are substances with properties intermediate between those of conventional liquids and solid crystals, exhibiting an ordered molecular arrangement similar to that of crystals, but with the fluidity of liquids. According to the conditions under which liquid crystals are formed, LCPs can be classified into solvatochromic liquid crystals (LLCP) and thermochromic liquid crystals (TLCP). LLCP can be dissolved in solution and in a certain concentration according to a certain pattern of orderly arrangement, showing part of the crystalline nature, according to this characteristic LLCP is generally used as fibers and coatings; and TLCP is in the hot melt into the liquid crystal state, with excellent processing performance, in addition to high-performance fibers, but also through the injection molding, extrusion, and other processing methods to form a variety of products, compared to the application of LLCP is more broad, TLCP is also therefore TLCP has been widely used in electronic information, aerospace, automotive, machinery, chemical and medical fields in just a few decades.
LCP is the best material for 5G signals, with excellent electrical properties: constant dielectric constant and consistency even at very high frequencies; low dielectric and conductor losses, which can be applied to millimeter-wave processing; high thermoplasticity, which makes it easy to realize multilayer stacking, and an important indicator is its very low water absorption, i.e., it almost does not absorb moisture, and therefore its substrate loss before and after the absorption of moisture is not obvious. Therefore, the loss of substrate is not obvious before and after moisture absorption.
Usually according to the different heat resistance, we divided LCP into I, II and III type, corresponding to high, medium and low heat resistance three grades, of which type II is the first choice of antenna material film matrix resin.
Currently, the mainstream manufacturers solve the problem of LCP molecule orientation in the process of film making by blown film method, as well as casting and biaxial stretching film making technology. Due to the LCP molecular rigidity, arrangement, molecular chain easy orientation, so often after the film in the direction of the broad direction of the force easy to break the film, so the existing film-making technology is to disrupt the molecular orientation as a starting point.
